Summer Adventure Club
a home-based learning camp for children 8-12 years
42 Commonwealth Ave.
Gloucester, MA 01930
978-325-0956

Club Mission Statement:
The Summer Adventure Club’s mission is to enhance literacy and experiential learning over the summer vacation. The program is designed to keep children, ages 8-12, engaged in learning through active play, hands-on experiences, art, children’s literature, and field trips to local businesses and beaches as well as trips to the city of Boston. In an effort to provide a safe and well-supervised, affordable camp option to parents, the number of club members will be kept to a small group of no more than 6 children enrolled per week.

Tuition
The cost for one week is $100 per child.
A $25 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration to reserve your child’s spot.
Weeks run from Tuesday-Friday*
Club Hours: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

*If needed, extended hours can be pre-arranged.

Field Trips
Weekly field trips will be taken to enhance the learning of each theme. We will walk to all local destinations and take public transportation (the commuter train and T) for the trips to Boston or locations outside of the City of Gloucester. In cases of rainy weather or thunderstorms, we may need to delay the field trip or cancel it altogether. Parents will be notified in advance of any change in plans.

Costs: There are additional costs for most field trips (including trips to LEGOLAND, New England Aquarium, and the PEM). The price of the field trips is not included in the weekly tuition. In most cases, a reduced group rate is available if we have a group of 10, which means that parents and siblings are welcomed and encouraged to join the club for field trips. Payment is due in advance for field trips. The costs for any field trip will not exceed $20.

Books
The cost of the books is not included in the tuition. All of the books are available on Amazon for reasonable prices. If you would prefer that I order the books for your child, please let me know at least one week in advance. The books were carefully chosen to enhance the weekly theme and interest level of the children. Please let me know if you have any issues with the books that were selected. Club members will be asked to read their books at home and during club hours.

Good To Know Info
· Club members will be given a healthy snack each day and will have access to filtered water throughout the day.

· Please send a lunch and reusable water bottle each day.

· Since we will be walking a lot and playing outdoors, please send your child in comfortable clothes and shoes (sneakers are best).

· Please provide a towel, swimsuit, and sunscreen; we will spend a lot of time enjoying water games.

My goal is to make this program as flexible and affordable for parents as possible. So, please let me know if you need special arrangements. Early drop-off, late pick-up options are available.
